Through the joint effort from scientists at the Universities of Wuppertal, Cologne, Potsdam, Tübingen, the Helmholtz Center Berlin and the MPIE, the first organic-perovskite solar cell with an efficiency of 24% was presented. Simulations show a theoretical limit of 30%, which can be achieved with further innovations. Leonie Gomell and Siyuan Zhang are co-authors of the publication. The recent findings are published under: Brinkmann, K.O., Becker, T., Zimmermann, F. et al, Perovskite–organic tandem solar cells with indium oxide interconnect, Nature604, 280–286 (2022)
Professor Ji-Cheng Zhao, Minta Martin professor of engineering and chair of the department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Maryland (USA), receives Humboldt Research Award. This award enables him to deepen the cooperation with our department in the field of combinatorial alloy design and additive manufacturing.
