Ruhr Chamber of Industry and Commerce awards Max Planck instructors with the Golden Badge of Honour

Material testers Heidi Bögershausen and Herbert Faul honoured for 20 years as examiners

Heidi Bögershausen, materials testing instructor at the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung, was awarded the Golden Badge of Honour by the Ruhr Chamber of Industry and Commerce for her 20 years of commitment to the examination board.

Heidi Bögershausen and Herbert Faul, materials testing instructors at the Max Planck Institut für Eisenforschung (MPIE) in Düsseldorf, have received the Golden Badge of Honour awarded by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) for their 20 years of service on the examination board.

"It is incredibly rewarding to see how young people develop personally and professionally during their apprenticeship. Many of our former trainees are now working successfully as materials testers in companies or have decided to study engineering or materials science", says Bögershausen.

"It is particularly important for us to take the time to explain why certain processes are important in materials testing and how scientists use these findings. This knowledge then motivates many people to start their own university studies and pursue these very questions," explains Faul.

In addition to materials testing, the MPIE also offers training in chemical laboratory, industrial mechanics, mathematical-technical software development and office management
