Networking with Nobel Laureates and young scientists from all over the world:  Dr. Lilian Vogl, group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials, has been selected to participate in this year’s Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting – a prestigious international gathering of Nobel Laureates and outstanding early-career researchers. The meeting is taking place from 29 June to 4.

“I’m delighted to join this year’s meeting and mingle with such smart people. It’s an amazing atmosphere and a once-in-a-lifetime chance,” says Vogl. As head of the Environmental & Analytical Electron Microscopy group, she is working on advancing materials for green technologies by replacing rare-earth elements, improving durability, and enhancing efficiency in applications such as photocatalysis, solar cells, batteries, and computing.

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings were established in 1951 and are held annually in Lindau, Germany. Each year, the meeting focuses on a different scientific discipline – this year: chemistry. Around 40 Nobel Laureates come together with 600 young scientists from over 100 countries to foster exchange, inspiration, and collaboration across generations, disciplines, and cultures. The meetings offer a unique opportunity for young researchers to gain insight into the minds of Nobel Prize winners, discuss big questions in science, and build lasting international networks.
