Ringberg Castle

The conference site, Ringberg Castle, belongs to the Max-Planck Society and is beautifully located in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps (Germany) overlooking lake Tegernsee.

Travel instructions

Arriving by plane you should choose the Munich airport "F.-J. Strauß"  (MUC) as your destination. From there, please take the S-Bahn to Munich Hauptbahnhof (Munich's main railway station;  travel approx. 40min). From there change onto the train for Tegernsee (BRB RB57, platform 27 - 36), departing every hour:

  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 13:04 - Tegernsee 14:09,
  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 14:04 - Tegernsee 15:09,
  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 15:04 - Tegernsee 16:09,
  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 16:04 - Tegernsee 17:09.

Please note, that the train is split in Schaftlach. Make sure that you sit in the right car. We will try to organize a shuttle from Tegernsee station to the castle for the four trains above. Otherwise, you will have to take a taxi.
