ICMR Workshop on Ab-initio description of charged systems and solid/liquid interfaces for semiconductors and electrochemistry
We would like to invite you to participate in our five-days workshop, which will be held in July 7-11, 2014 at the International Center for Materials Researchat UC Santa Barbara (California, USA). The aim of the workshop is to bring together distinguished scientists (both theorists and experimentalists) working on various aspects of interest regarding the description of charged systems and solid/liquid interfaces. We have invited speakers who undertake exciting research in one or more of the following areas: point defects in semiconductors / ions in solution low dimensional materials, surfaces, interfaces effective modelling or coarse-graining of solvent or soft-matter oxides and corrosion electrochemistry The workshop aims to identify and discuss requirements, challenges and possibilities for an effective description of electrode/electrolyte interfaces in the modeling of electrochemical problems. We expect stimulating discussions on recent results and scientific concepts. To provide ample time for discussion and exchange each invited speaker is asked to give a 60-minute tutorial like presentation. Participants will be able to present their work in a contributed talks and a poster session.
