Location: International Center for Materials Research

The conference site, the International Center for Materials Research, is supported by the IMI Program of the National Science Foundation under Award No. DMR 08-43934. It is located at the UCSB and takes advantage of UCSB's outstanding tradition in materials research.

The location of the ICMR at the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA), takes advantage of UCSB campus excellent location overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Accomodation

Lodging for participants has been reserved at Manzanita Village which is located on the UCSB campus. This will be shared accommodations with two people per room. Rooms will be single sex. Faculty/professors will have their own room. You can check-in at the De Anza Centre of the Manzanita Village.

Linens (sheets, blanket, pillow, and towels) are provided. Toiletries or blow-dryers are not provided.  

Bathrooms are shared.

A wireless internet connection is available at the venue where the workshop lectures will take place. Internet access is also available within the dorms, but needs to be requested individually at the time of check in.

Travel Instructions

Arrival at the dorms is possible at anytime after 10 am on Sunday, July 6th. A free Shuttle from the Santa Barbara Airport or SB Airbus is available from 7am to 10pm. It can be requested by calling the following number: (805) 893- 6161 ( there is a courtesy phone at the airport).
