ISMM Distinguished Career Award

Prof. Jörg Neugebauer receives the 2024 ISMM Distinguished Career Award from the International Society on Materials Modeling (ISMM). The award, which recognizes an individual who has advanced the field of materials modeling through innovative, career-long research contributions, was presented at the 11th Multiscale Materials Modeling (MMM) conference in Prague, Czech Republic.

First prize at the Large Language Model (LLM) Hackathon for Applications in Materials and Chemistry

Dr. Jan Janssen and his team won the first prize at the Large Language Model (LLM) Hackathon for Applications in Materials and Chemistry with their interface for LLMs to compute fundamental atomistic material properties using pyiron.

International exchange Award from the Royal Society (UK)

Prof. Nils Warnken (University of Birmingham) receives the international exchanges award from the Royal Society (UK) to be hosted by the CM department.

Dr. Ageo Meier de Andrade received two travel scholarships, namely from The Royal Society of Arts and Sciences in Gothenburg for the 11th Multiscale Materials Modeling (MMM) conference in Prague, Czech Republic, and from the Adlerbertska Research Foundation for the XXII meeting of The Brazilian Materials Research Society (B-MRS), Santos, Brazil.

APS Outstanding Referee

APS Outstanding Referee

Christoph Freysoldt has been recognized as Outstanding Referee for the Physics Review journal family. The APS Editors select the honorees based on the quality, number, and timeliness of their reports.
 

The Outstanding Referee program was instituted in 2008 to recognize scientists who have been exceptionally helpful in assessing manuscripts for publication in the APS journals.
