Structure and Nano-/ Micromechanics of Materials

Plasticity, fatigue, and fracture of materials arise from localized deformation processes, which can be altered by the materials’ environment. The department is dedicated to crafting materials with superior mechanical properties by elucidating deformation mechanisms.
