Publication Process

Although researchers interact with the publishing industry on a daily basis, when using databases to search for papers for their own research or when trying to get their articles published, yet the internal mechanisms of scientific publishing are usually quite obscure to the scientific community.

This session will kickstart with a general presentation on scientific publishing, aiming to throw light on some of the processes which encompass i.e. article selection by editors, peer-review, dissemination etc. for an hour or so.

An interactive Q&A session will follow, during which the audience will be encouraged to ask questions to dwell on aspects that are of particular interest to the group, such as article writing & reviewing, metrics, etc.
