Dr. Thomas F. Kelly, then a professor at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, founded Imago Scientific Instruments in 1998. In September, 2001 Imago completed its first LEAP Microscope and began analyzing specimens. The LEAP has revolutionized the field of atom probe tomography. Imago was subsequently acquired by Ametek and integrated within Cameca. Dr Kelly is now the VP for innovation for Cameca Instruments.
