Main Focus

As head of the High-Temperature Corrosion Laboratory at the MPIE, I am deeply involved in designing and optimizing the experimental setups for corrosion processes at elevated temperatures. Beside these works, I am also working on synchrotron studies, which concern the initial stages of material degregation and surface reactions under complex atmospheric conditions for selective oxidation by means of XRR, GI-XRD and NAP-XPS.
Furthermore, I am responsible for the department´s large-scale instruments, the Near Ambient Pressure Micro-XPS System and the Physical Vapor Deposition Cluster.
