Ab initio Description of Iron and Steel: Mechanical properties
The aim of the seminar was to bring together distinguished experts in ab-initio calculations and thermodynamic/kinetic modeling of metals and steels. In particular, the meeting was focused on recent developments in simulating their mechanical properties, including phase stabilities, energetics/dynamics of extended defects, failure mechanisms as well as multi-scale approaches.
