Interface modification by organic molecules

Modification of metallic and oxidic surfaces by organic molecules - small and polymeric

Oxidic and metallic surfaces can be modified by organic molecules, either to protect them, or to modify their properties. We investigate the resulting structures, and develop model systems to study failure mechanisms. Particular interest is on the modification of ill-defined native oxides, but also on bare metal surfaces.

Modification of particles can also be used to facilitate electro-codeposition of particles into metal.
