1. Digitalisation of scientific workflows

I work on the "translation" of atomistic scientific workflows into standardised forms such that they can be findable, accessible and reusable by members of the community, in the framework of the German national digitalisation initiative, MaterialsDigital.

2. Grain boundary segregation and cohesion of engineering alloys

My current research focus is on engineering structural alloys development - working on making stronger/lighter/harder alloys from a fundamental physics-based approach. This involves employing simulations to scan the huge parameter space which can affect alloy properties, such as their chemical composition and/or microstructural defects. Currently, I am focused on investigating grain boundary segregation phenomena. To achieve this, I employ high-performance computing, write code to enable and automate the workflows, and code for data analysis and visualisation.
