“Treibhaus” Rooms in central Düsseldorf: Rent a furnished bedroom with its own bathroom in the very centre Düsseldorf. The costs begin at €700 per month all-inclusive. Kitchens are shared with other tenants. Six month minimum.
Das Apartment Haus: Recommended for shorter stays due to higher price (from €950 per month for a studio). A short walk from the institute, fully furnished and all-inclusive rent. Book a studio in advance by contacting the owner by email (info@dasapartmenthaus.de), mentioning you are with MPI SusMat.
Cube River: Fully furnished studios suitable for singles. Prices begin at €750 per month. 15 minutes walk from MPI SusMat. Scholarship holders are not to be accepted. Pures Leben: Furnished apartments in two locations in Düsseldorf. The Grafenberger Allee location is closer to our institute; the Flincaree location has cheaper options.

Maxfrei Student Dormitory: Rent a room in a nearby student dormitory for a very reasonable price - but only if you are an enrolled student (immatrikuliert).
Barton Living in Düsseldorf-Rath: Partially furnished studios and one-bedroom apartments in Düsseldorf Rath, on Kanzler Str. All-inclusive rent from €740 per month. Door-to-door approximately 30 minutes to MPI SusMat using public transport or by bike. Minimum one year contract. Non-EU citizens can sign a contract with presenting proof of a visa. Urban Base: Brand new fully furnished studios in various sizes close to the campus of Düsseldorf’s Heinrich Heine University. Choose an apartment and apply online. A valid visa may be required. From this location it takes 30-40 minutes door-to-door to MPI SusMat using one tram line. Rent inclused all costs except electricity - this must be paid separately.
Acora Apartment Hotel: An apartment hotel located 20 minutes from MPI SusMat by bus. Book exact dates for stays of one month or less.
Homelike: A portal to search furnished apartments that can be booked and paid for online. Make sure the landlord provides a “Certificate of residence” if you need to register your address.
Immobilien Scout: The most popular property portal for locals. You should be in Düsseldorf and available for viewings if you use this site. To find furnished apartments, use the category “Wohnen auf Zeit”. You have the best chances of getting a response if you contact the most recents ads.
Wunderflats: A portal offering furnished apartments from many landlords. Higher prices for a temporary solution. Make sure the landlord provides a “Confirmation of residence” if you need to register your address.
