Thomas Gänsler wins prize at the image competition of the Royal Microscopical Society
Thomas Gänsler, PhD student in the group "Nanoanalytics and Interfaces", won the second prize in the category “Electron Microscopy – Physical Sciences” in the image competition of the Royal Microscopical Society. Gänsler presented his research results on catalysts in a lecture during the Microscience Microscopy Congress 2019 (mmc2019) and took part at the competition with his image titled "A Blooming New World". The image taken with a scanning electron microscope shows different morphologies of a nanostructured catalyst material consisting of niobium oxide hydroxides doped with titanium.
During the award ceremony, he also received a prize, which was kindly provided by Agar Scientific.
