Invitation to the public lecture: Does our brain make us fat?

Lecture (in German) by Professor Marc Tittgemeyer at the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung on Thursday, 9 November 2023, at 6.00 pm. Free entry

October 27, 2023

Feel hungry, get a pudding, enjoy it and take another: A multitude of electrical and chemical signals ensure that our body and brain make common cause in nutritional matters. But how does this physiological interaction explain why we are downright addicted to snacks? Why is it often difficult to maintain or lose weight? The lecture will discuss how the brain controls our food intake and what consequences the "agreements" between body and brain also have on our everyday behaviour.

The Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung invites you to the public lecture by Professor Marc Tittgemeyer on Thursday, 9 November at 6 pm. Tittgemeyer is a group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research and an expert in the field of neurology.

The lecture will take place as part of the KopfSalat event series of the Max-Planck Institut für Eisenforschung. KopfSalat offers generally understandable lectures in German on various scientific topics twice a year. The lectures are aimed at all interested parties from Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. Entry is free.
