August 29, 2019

Kevin Schweinar, doctoral student in the department “Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design”, has won the M&M Scholar Award 2019. The "Microanalysis Society" (MAS) awards the prize every year at the "Microscopy & Microanalysis" Meeting (M&M), thus honoring outstanding publications by young scientists in the field of microanalysis in the eponymous journal. In order to receive the award, Schweinar presented his publication at the M&M 2019, which took place this year in Portland, USA. The prize consists of a free registration for the meeting, a travel grant of $1000 US Dollar and an invitation to the Presidential Reception.

The MAS offers regional and international forums to promote the exchange on all questions arousing on microanalysis in material sciences, physics and chemistry. The M&M is the largest MAS sponsored meeting, with more than 3000 participants every year.
