Philipp Kürnsteiner honoured with prestigious Student Award
Philipp Kürnsteiner, doctoral student in the group “Alloys for Additive Manufacturing”, was awarded with the Acta Student Award for his publication on ”Massive nanoprecipitation in an Fe-19Ni-xAl maraging steel triggered by the intrinsic heat treatment during laser metal deposition”, which appeared in the highly respected journal Acta Materialia.
Philipp Kürnsteiner, doctoral student in the group “Alloys for Additive Manufacturing” in the department “Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design”, was awarded with the Acta Student Award for his publication on ”Massive nanoprecipitation in an Fe-19Ni-xAl maraging steel triggered by the intrinsic heat treatment during laser metal deposition”, which appeared in the highly respected journal Acta Materialia.
Acta Materialia awards annually four prizes for the best publications of the previous year published in the journal and written by doctoral students. Acta Materialia evaluates the paper itself, the application to the award, the CV of the young researcher and three letters of recommendation. The award is endowed with 2000 US dollars and is one of the most prestigious awards for young scientists. It will be presented during the Materials Science & Technology Conference 2018 (MS&T18), which will take place from October 14 to 18 in Columbus, USA.
