Dr. Simon Geiger awarded with the GDCh Prize for Electrochemistry

August 09, 2018

Dr. Simon Geiger, scientist in the group "Electrocatalysis" in the department "Interface Chemistry and Surface Engineering", was awarded the prize of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) for his dissertation titled “Stability investigations of iridium-based catalysts towards acidic water splitting”. The prize, which is endowed with 1,000 euros, is donated by BASF SE and will be presented at the conference Electrochemistry 2018, which will take place in Ulm from September 24 to 26. There, Geiger will also have the opportunity to present his work to the audience.

The Electrochemistry 2018 takes place every two years and is jointly organized by the GDCh Electrochemistry Group, the GDCh Electroanalytical Chemistry Working Group and other associations in this field. The conference brings together experts and students of electrochemistry but also scientists from other disciplines and representatives from industry. In 2018, the event will be devoted to electrochemical surface science. Aspects from both basic research and industrial application will be discussed.
