Dr. Zirong Peng awarded for her outstanding self-financed studies abroad

Dr. Zirong Peng from the department “Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design” was honoured with the “2017 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad”. Peng already absolved her master’s studies in “Materials Science and Physical Metallurgy” at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany before transferring to the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung (MPIE) for her PhD. In her doctoral thesis, which she recently completed, she focuses on the nanoscale degradation mechanism of mold materials, which are used for the technology of precision glass molding (PGM). She is now working as a postdoctoral researcher in the group “Atom Probe Tomography”.
