MPIE Material Scientists take part at the Düsseldorf „Researchers’ Night“ on 27th September 2013!

July 24, 2013

The first “Researchers’ Night” takes place on September 27th between 4.30 pm and 2.00 am with the theme “Interfaces – The Art of Science”. Within six different areas, numerous partners from science and industry present their exciting research projects for young and old. The scientists leave their laboratories and dive right in the Düsseldorf city life. A route along the Rhine connects all attractions from the Rhine terrace to the city museum.

The Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung contributes to the event with three different projects. In the area of “Medicine & Engineering” scientists will show how hip implants can be optimized through computer simulations (at Museum Kunstpalast). Further on, visitors can experience how fuel cells can be examined atom by atom in the field of “Energy & Environment” (at the Rhine terrace). The last area deals with “Technology & Society” and here the MPIE presents new ways of fighting corrosion (at Museum Kunstpalast).
