Location: Ringberg Castle

The conference site, Ringberg Castle, belongs to the Max-Planck Society and is beautifully located in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps (Germany) overlooking lake Tegernsee.

Accomodation

Ringberg Castle has 35 guest rooms with a shower or a bath tub. Each room has is equipped with a telephone and has Wireless LAN access. Rooms are partially reserved for the invited speakers. Regular participants will be accommodated at Ringberg castle or a nearby guest house. (A shuttle to the guest house will be provided.) Please note that the number of available single rooms is limited.

Travel instructions

Arriving by plane you should choose the Munich airport "F.-J. Strauß"  (MUC) as your destination. From there, please take the S-Bahn to Munich Hauptbahnhof (Munich's main railway station;  travel approx. 40min). From there change onto the train for Tegernsee (platform 27 - 36), departing every hour:

  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 15:10 - Tegernsee 16:12,
  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 16:10 - Tegernsee 17:12,
  • Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) 17:10 - Tegernsee 18:12, etc.

Please note, that the train is split in Schaftlach. Make sure that you sit in the right car. We will try to organize a shuttle from Tegernsee station to the castle for the three trains above. Otherwise, you will have to take a taxi. For more detailed information please look here.
