September 19, 2024

Professor Andrea Kienle, head of the department “Research” at the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MKW), and Doctor Christiane Fricke, leading the group “Non-university research institutions, EU and international affairs” at MKW, visited the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials in Düsseldorf on Thursday, 19 September. How can we produce and recycle metals sustainably? How can we produce green hydrogen or use artificial intelligence to understand whether and how the properties of steel are influenced by hydrogen? These and other research questions were discussed during a tour of the institute's laboratories. In addition to current research results, the discussion also covered the development of the metal industry and research landscape in North Rhine-Westphalia.
