How to analyse frozen liquids or corrosion at the quantum level? What are the latest insights into energy materials or the detection of hydrogen? The online series "Coffee with Max Planck" offers seminars given by MPIE scientists on current hot-topics. The lunchtime seminasr take place every week until the end of February.
The seminars target early career researchers from top European universities. At each event a "Travel Award" of 1.000 euros is offered, to enable outstanding doctoral candidates to present their research at the MPIE and receive mentoring from one of the MPIE group leaders.
Last year, the concept for the seminar series won a Germany-wide competition organized by the German Research Foundation (DFG) to raise awareness of Germany among young researchers in Europe. The seminar series is being supported with a total of 25,000 euros.
