PD Dr. Franz Roters re-elected to the DGM executive board

PD Dr. Franz Roters, head of the group "Theory and Simulation" in the department "Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design", has been re-elected to the executive board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde e.V. (DGM) for the term of 2021/22.

Leading material scientists from industry and science are members of the DGM executive board. Roters is speaker of the Award Committee II, which prepares the decisions of the executive board for the selection of the winners of the three DGM awards: Masing Memorial Prize, Georg-Sachs-Prize and DGM Prize for Young Talents.

Roters has been group leader at the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung since 2000. His main research area is constitutive modeling based on crystal plasticity. His research group develops open source the simulation framework DAMASK to facilitate the implementation of these models.

The DGM is Europe's largest technical-scientific society in the field of materials science and engineering. For more than 100 years the DGM has represented the interests of its members from science and industry.
