Best Poster Award  for Thomas Utzig at the 15th IACIS conference

June 17, 2015

Thomas Utzig, Ph.D. student at the department of Interface Chemistry and Surface Engineering, won the Best Poster Award for his poster “Scaling from Single Molecule to Macroscopic Adhesion at Polymer/Metal Interfaces” in the category “Surface Forces” at the 15th conference of the “International Association of Colloid and Interface Scientists” (IACIS). Utzig’s poster focuses on a molecular understanding of adhesion of glue or coatings on metal. The aim is to predict macroscopic properties of polymer-metal-interfaces on the basis of single molecular interactions.
At the conference, which took place from May 24th to May 29th in Mainz (Germany), over 300 posters in 8 categories were presented.
