Max-Planck Workshop on Dual-Phase Steel successful

November 25, 2011

The Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH (MPIE) invited for the first time in this manner interested people to participate in a workshop on dual phase steel on November 24th 2011. More than 80 people followed this invitation.

The program combined presentations about various aspects of this material, like processing, modeling and future challenges. During a lab tour new experimental techniques used in the characterization of dual phase steels (i.e. electron contrast channelling imaging, atom probe tomography, and in-situ deformation testing) were demonstrated. The speakers were researchers from leading groups in industry and academia.

With this workshop a new series of topical one day meetings started at the MPIE. The intention is to bring together leading experts from academia and industry in a workshop format where they present recent results and have in-depth discussions on a special topic of intense current basic and applied research interest.
