Franz Roters has successfully concluded his habilitation thesis

Dr. Frank Roters, head of the group “Theory and Simulation” in the department “Microstructure Physics and Alloy Design” at the MPIE has successfully concluded his habilitation thesis at the RWTH Aachen University. His thesis is titled “Advanced Material Models for the Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Method - Development of a general CPFEM framework”. Roters simulates the formability of crystalline materials through the use of the Crystal Plasticity Finite Element Method (CPEFEM). He completed his habilitation with a presentation about “raw materials for the computer of tomorrow” which he held at the Faculty for Geo Resources and Material Engineering. The brand new associate professor is now allowed to give courses in the field of Computational Material Science.
