Main Focus

  • Establish the relaitonship between the mechanical behavior of mterial and the underlying microsture, using the muliscale method, such as strain gradinet crystal plasticy theory, discrete dislocation dynamic simulation and molecular dynamics.
  • Mechanical behavior and deformation mechanisms of materials at microscale and nanoscale, such as micropillar, nanotwinned material, nano-crystalline, nano-composite material, nanofoam and thin films.
  • The cyclic behavior of material, especially the ratcheting effect and Bauschinger effect.
