Hydrogen direct reduction of high-grade pellets for ironmaking

The presentation deals with the description of the hydrogen direct reduction of high grade pellets for ironmaking. The evolution of porosity in different conditions of temperature and pressure is described through the observations performed by Microtomography observations and measurements. A detailed description of the processing and microstructural features effect on the pellets reducibility will be performed. Given the remarkable differences with respect to pellets reduced in carbon-based atmospheres, the reoxidation behaviour of pellets as a function of temperature and holding time is analysed.
