MPIE as new board member of the association Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V.

The Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung (MPIE) has been elected as a new member of the board of the association Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V. Prof. Gerhard Dehm, director of the department "Structure and Nano-/Micromechanics of Materials", will represent the MPIE. Together with the other nine members of the board, the MPIE will further strengthen the research location Düsseldorf.

The members of the association Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V. are leading institutions from research and education as well as from local politics and economy. The aim is to improve the framework conditions for research and education and the networking of regional players. The exchange of specialists as well as between companies and young talents in studies and training is also important target. One of the already successful projects is the Innovation Semester, in which students, trainees and young professionals work together on current topics in small working units.
