IMPRS for Surface and Interface Engineering in Advanced Materials (SurMat)
This International Max Planck Research School (SurMat) is a cooperative effort involving the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH, Düsseldorf, the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Mühlheim, the Ruhr University Bochum and institutes in China.
It is a graduate school providing scholarships for explicitly talented students. A unique combination of excellent research conditions plus an intensive and interdisciplinary teaching program are part of this program. After successful completion, the students are awarded a doctorate degree from the Ruhr University Bochum plus an IMPRS certificate from the Max Planck Society.
