There are several elements which characterize the IMPRS-SurMat curriculum. Some of them are mandatory for all SurMat students, at other courses offered the attendance is optional.

Research Programme

The duration for completing a typical thesis within the SurMat program is expected to be three years. Students of SurMat perform their research work in one of four research fields R1 to R4. R1: Catalysis and Electrocatalysis

Soft skill trainings are regularly organizedby SurMat in order to prepare students for their future professional life. The topics are chosen by considering the students’ demands.
